Temporary Mobile Support for Your Chronic Condition in Flagstaff

Living with a chronic condition requires ongoing care and management. While Mend Care is not a substitute for a primary care physician, we understand that there are times when you might need support between your regular appointments. Our mobile Flagstaff urgent care service can provide temporary assistance with certain aspects of your chronic condition management, all from the comfort of your Flagstaff home.

We Bridge the Gap to the Next Primary Care Appointment

It’s important to have a primary care physician who oversees your chronic condition. Mend Care is designed to be a bridge, providing support when you can’t get in to see your regular doctor right away or need a medication refill to hold you over. We work in conjunction with your primary care to make sure that there are no gaps in your care.

Here’s how we can help:

  • Medication Refills: If you’re running low on your essential medications and can’t get an appointment with your primary care doctor in time, we may be able to provide a short-term refill to ensure you don’t miss any doses. Certain restrictions apply.
  • Symptom Assessment: If you’re experiencing a flare-up or worsening of your chronic condition, we can assess your symptoms, provide guidance, and recommend over-the-counter treatments to help you manage until you can see your doctor. We can also run tests to make sure nothing else is going on.
  • Guidance and Support: We can answer your questions, address your concerns, and provide education about your condition to help you better manage it between primary care visits.
  • Lab Testing: We can perform certain lab tests that can monitor your condition or help rule out other potential problems while you wait to see your primary care doctor.

Flagstaff’s environment (altitude impacting COPD/CHF, seasonal changes, travel difficulties for appointments, lack of primary care providers) can make convenient in-home “bridge” care especially valuable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mend Care isn’t meant to replace your primary care doctor, who manages your chronic condition long-term. Think of us as a “bridge” between your regular appointments. We can help if you need a medication refill and can’t get in to see your doctor right away, or if you have a flare-up of symptoms and need a quick assessment. We can also communicate with your doctor’s office to keep them informed. We offer a more affordable and convenient way to get care when your doctor is not available.

We can refill many common medications for chronic conditions, such as those for high blood pressure, diabetes, or asthma on a short-term basis to ensure you don’t run out before your next primary care appointment. However, there are some restrictions. We do not refill controlled substances, and any refills will require a consultation with our medical team to make sure it is safe and appropriate. We will also communicate with your primary care regarding any refills we provide.

While we don’t order routine monitoring labs for long-term chronic condition management, we can perform certain lab tests if needed to assess a current concern or rule out other issues while you wait to see your primary care doctor. We also offer many wellness panels that can help give you a better picture of your overall health.

If your condition significantly worsens or you develop new, concerning symptoms, we recommend contacting your primary care doctor or seeking emergency care immediately. While we can provide temporary support and guidance, we are not a substitute for ongoing primary care or emergency services. We can, however, assess your condition and make recommendations on the best place to seek care.
